Abraoo was amazing! We were delighted with our Christmas lunch that he delivered to our house and helped us dish it up nicely on our own crockery. It was delicious! We will definitely be using him again for any future dinner parties.

We had chef Daniel come and cook Christmas Lunch for us yesterday. We had had an issue with him before he arrived regarding the time of his arrival. We had agreed 10am but he tried to move it to earlier informing us his mum had come over as a surprise. This then made me feel guilty having him come and cook for us at all. I even often he cancel but he said no that was fine. Then Christmas Eve he called to ask if he could come at 10.30am. We agreed, but again I felt I had no choice. But he actually turned up at 11.18am! He said he had been helping his brother at another job. He also said he had no gravy for us as he had given it to his brother! So my partner had to go out on Christmas Day trying to find gravy! The menu had been agreed, yet my son did not get any garlic bread! Which he was looking forward to as he loves it. Daniel instead served him shop bought sausage rolls he heated up in the oven?! And talking of shop bought, he also served shop bought Yorkshire puddings?! I did not say anything to the chef at the time as it was Christmas Day and he clearly could not have done anything about it. He was a lovely person, but I really do not feel we got the service we paid for. Paying for a chef, I would expect the menu we agreed and not to be served shop bought products! I could have gone that myself. And not to have to go out Christmas Day to find gravy!

The chef we booked arrived with two assistants and he himself only stayed around 10 minutes. I was just wondering if this was as per the terms and conditions? As a result the food quality was below par with several items being shop bought or from a packet. For example the Yule Log as a Colin the Caterpillar. The cooking itself was below standard too, all the meat was dry and over cooked whereas the vegetables were undercooked. The two assistants were lovely and tried very hard but perhaps needed the guidance of the chef? There was also far too much food. We took it out afterwards and served around 20 homeless people. As it's Christmas I don't want to raise a huge complaint or dispute but I was wondering if this is the usual kind of quality / service you expect? We have used the app before and always got the chef we booked and high quality food.

Poorvi was very professional and arrived promptly on time at the agreed time of 1pm in order to serve canapés for 3pm. The taste of the food was great as well as Poorvi’s professionalism. However there were quite a few points of constructive feedback I wanted to raise and bring to your attention: • The starters were served as a buffet style, I had given Poorvi individual specific orders however we had to help our own servings from the bar area. • When I arrived, my mother in law had told Poorvi that there were 2 people with nut allergies, Poorvi had said to me that she wasn’t aware as I didn’t tell her, however I have evidence from our Yhangry inbox messages which states the allergies and Poorvi acknowledging this and saying she will make nut free dishes. • Further to this, there was also a pregnant woman present which I had made Poorvi aware of, however the dessert consisted of a Whiskey and Brandy infused brownie / ice cream. • The biggest disappointment was how the main course was served completely cold. The side dishes were left on the side for 20 minutes before being served to us whereas they should have been placed in the oven to remain warm. There were 10 diners, and my mother in law had to reheat the food in the microwave. We then asked for piping hot gravy to warm up the food which took around 15 minutes to be given to us, when this was given it was still cold. This experience was extremely disappointing, as the food seemed full of flavour however we were not able to enjoy this due to the temperature. I had followed up with Poorvi post the event; she apologised and said the cold food was due to the weather which I didn’t quite understand. • There was also some miscommunication between both parties, I thought we had agreed that Poorvi would include a waiter in the total price however a few days before the event she said this would cost us £200. I told her this was out of our budget, so she brought a close friend who charged us £100. We haven’t paid Poorvi this fee yet as I wanted to escalate my feedback to you before sending any further payment. The waiter was very bad at serving us and collecting our plates from the table, we had to ask a number of times for food to be served. • There were also concerns with how pink the chicken was, it had seemed as if it was undercooked and this was left on plates. • We were then told that this was Poorvis first event she had catered for, I wasn’t aware of this - if we had known this, this would have influenced our decision with going with this particular chef. This was our first experience of premium private dining, and unfortunately after our experience it’s not something that we are keen on pursuing again. Based on the amount of money we had paid, it seems we would have received better value and quality by dining outdoors. It’s a shame as we were extremely optimistic about the event. Even though the chef was lovely and the food did taste great, there were too many factors - especially the cold food that let the whole experience down.

Unfortunately I have to report that our meal by Helio was not at all good and we have been left extremely disappointed on what was supposed to be a special occasion. Helio was very nice and courteous, and helpful in planning our menu. He also offered to put on two additional canapés for no additional cost, which we appreciated. However the food was extremely bad, and totally lacking in technical skill. - The starters: whipped blue cheese and figs was simply figs arranged on a plate with blue cheese crumbled over and apparently store-bought balsamic, the terrine was hugely garlicky and totally solid. It was served with stale toasts which you were unable to spread the terrine onto anyway, given that it was so hard. - The main of beef wellington was dreadful - the beef itself, which we were convinced was not actually fillet, had been overcooked to the extent that it was grey throughout and so tough it was impossible to cut through. The pastry was undercooked, soggy and collapsing and there were other layers that were simply missing (a proper mushroom duxelles and Parma harm). It is hard to believe that Helio had any experience in making this dish. - The gravy was reminiscent of Bisto. As keen amateur/hobby cooks, we have made much better versions ourselves. - The accompanying vegetables were overcooked frozen green beans and mushy red cabbage. - The dauphinoise potatoes, as with the beef wellington, were not reminiscent of the actual dish at all, they were hard, under seasoned and totally lacking the characteristic richness. - Elements of the main were frankly disgusting and inedible. - Finally, the dessert was not sticky toffee pudding at all but steamed sponge with uncooked booze of some variety poured all over. It was served with basic ice cream from Tesco which appeared to have freezer burn. - On top of this, all the food was served tepid. I feel extremely upset and let down by this experience. It was to be a special treat for my family on Christmas Day and a surprise for my son on his 30th birthday - an event which had been in the planning for several months. I cannot trust that Yhangry takes any care in vetting its chefs as Helio was quite clearly totally unqualified. In addition Helio appeared to be highly rated on Yhangry and yet he told me that ours was the first booking since he had joined Yhangry. Your assessment process seems questionable. I can confidently say that I am most unlikely to use the service again. I am certainly not willing to pay for last night’s unhappy experience. I look forward to hearing from you that you will refund me.

Below find my feedback of my Christmas day brunch with Chef Nickandra: 1. On the positive side, the food tasted good (the Frittata according to those who tasted it was delicious). She is an amiable and easy to work with. My kitchen was left clean, which was quite a relief. 2. On the negative side, Chef Nickandra had a babysitter problem that day and as a result she was late for the event. This tardiness caused a domino effect which practically ruined the entire experience (the quinoa salad was not prepared, no table set up or table Christmas decorations as had been suggested, and the food presentation was pretty poor). To begin with, I believe that she had underestimated the time it would take to prepare the whole menu and table set up. This and the babysitter problem caused an irrecoverable delay which impacted the whole event. Suffice to say that I am quite disappointed at the whole experience.

We have a fantastic experience with Paule catering for us on Christmas Day for 6 adults. Seamless experience from start to finish in terms of contact prior to the day to finalise menu / arrangements, arrival / meal preparation, serving the meal & cleaning up afterwards. The food was absolutely fantastic - great flavours & well presented. Only downside was it took us 3 days to finish the desserts off there was so much food! Highly recommend !
