Thank you Simon so much for making Ian’s 60th birthday dinner so special at our amazing Manor House venue we hired - food is the way to anyone’s heart and you worked so hard for our enjoyment, all your attention to detail, your confidence gave so much reassurance to me and for being just splendid and out of this world. Laura is a brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, she even lit the fire.

Hollie hosted a special birthday dinner party for us and she could not have been more lovely and accommodating . The food was absolutely delicious and could not be faulted. Hollie was very helpful in creating the perfect menu to suit all guests- nothing was too much of an ask. Hollie also created a beautiful birthday cake that finished off the dinner perfectly. I would highly recommend Hollie!

Absolutely top notch in every respect. The food was superb and Ryan was just a lovely, relaxed presence to have part of our dinner party experience. He was so accommodating of all our different needs and tastes in the design of the menu, and it was the perfect mixture of refinement and big, homely flavours. He comes very highly recommended indeed.

Chef Ben was fantastic! He arrived punctually and got to work straight away with limited space. Ben kept me informed as plans changed due to space at the venue and made sure to introduce each dish as we ate. Ben had the perfect level of professionalism and interaction with guests. Food was incredible and catered for guests with allergies without making them feel left out. Bens food made the night and my guests were blown away! He even took some recycling for us to save us a job in the morning!

The issues I would like to raise are as follows: * The chef was not communicative before the event. A number of messages I sent went unanswered. When the chef did reply, I was simply reassured that everything was "100% all in hand", so I took him at his word. * Our final menu to be delivered was never made clear. I had asked for clarifications regarding dietary restrictions (detail below), but these were not forthcoming. I was told "all menu options can be alternated to accommodate all food intolerances and allergies" but it was never made clear exactly how this would be achieved. However, again I took him at his word, assuming that he would make suitable alterations to the menu. * On the day of the event, I heard nothing from the chef. I had to find time to get online to send a message to ask what time the chef would be arriving. I only received an answer 1.5hrs before anyone arrived. * The chef himself did not attend the event. The two people who attended were very nice, but this was not expected or agreed with the chef beforehand. I was expecting the chef I had booked to be there, but he did not. * The chef who did arrive, along with an assistant, was very nervous and anxious. He had difficulty communicating with us as his english was not very good, and also seemed unsure of everything. He did not seem to have enough information relating the dietary requirements I had sent to the chef I had booked with. He seemed unsure about what food he was serving, and had difficulty telling us what it was that we were eating. * I had informed the chef that I had booked with that one diner had a nut allergy that includes pine nuts, and a diner who was pregnant and could not eat certain cheeses. The proposed menu contained pesto (contains pine nuts) and goats cheese (unsuitable during pregnancy unless cooked). I was sure to mention this to the chef during booking more than once, and as I have already mentioned, he simply told me that it was all fine and would be taken care of in the final menu. On the evening, all plates served contained pesto and goats cheese - it was only because we took care to notice this that they were avoided by the diners with dietary requirements. Furthermore, the canapes served were not what was listed on the chosen menu, and one of these also contained hummus (pine nuts) and burrata (unsuitable during pregnancy), so two diners were unable to eat these either. * Having seen the chef who attended and his assistant working in the kitchen, and what they had brought with them, it was clear that almost all the food had been pre-prepared off site and mostly warmed up or plated in our kitchen. The food was ok, but not freshly cooked or prepared. Overall we were disappointed by the quality of what we were served. I know that there is nothing yhangry can do in terms of payment at this stage, but I would appreciate as much help as you can provide in mediating a resolution with the chef. I have messaged him more than once but have so far not received any reply from him. I attach a photgraph of the menu that was served, and can provide all the messages sent and received in communication with the chef in evidence.
