ROMANTIC THINGS TO DO
IN KENT

Kent is full of romantic things to do for you and your loved one. We’ve put together a list of the best places.

romantic things to do in kent

Take a look at our round up of the most romantic things to do in Kent. It’s a region that’s packed full of history, castles, beautiful countryside and romantic gardens. There’s a reason they call Kent the garden of England. Beautiful all year round, we think the best time for these is late Spring when everything is blooming and flourishing.

Scotney Castle

Featured in the main picture above, this incredibly beautiful castle is set in landscaped gardens which you can wander around for hours. Not only is there a manor house with elegant rooms and history to explore, but when you venture out into the gardens, you can see the ruins of the old castle that once stood there! The family kept it as a quirky feature to see when their guests come to visit.

Wine Tours Of Kent

They pick you up in the morning and take you on wine tours across three different vineyards of Kent’s most prominent wineries. With lunch in between, your day is packed full of walks amongst the vines (you don’t need to wear suitable shoes don’t worry!), learning about wines and tasting lots of them too.

Sissinghurst Castle Garden

Yes another castle! But what could be more romantic than imagining yourself in these fairy tale like settings. Plus Kent is full of castles, each one packed full of history! Sissinghurst was built pre Norman conquest in Vita Sackville-West, one of Virginia Wolf’s lovers.

Kent Ballooning

Take a trip soaring a mile above the Kent countryside. You can book a trip at sunrise or sunset from April until October. They save those winter months as it gets cold up there so make sure to pack an extra jumper even on a warm day!

Elmley Nature Reserve

The Elmley Nature Reserve inspired Charles Dickens when he wrote Great Expectations. You can book a place to stay on the reserve, including a shepherd’s hut! Take a long walk across the beautiful scenery, take in the fantastic views, and take a picnic to enjoy while you’re there. Just make sure not to share it with any of the wildlife!
