When do we charge your payment method?
When you book a chef with yhangry, you provide a payment method (card or bank account) that we keep securely on file via our payment processor, Stripe. This page explains when and why we may charge it.
What can I be charged for?
You will only be charged for amounts that relate to your booking. This includes:
- The remaining balance of your booking — if you paid a deposit to secure your chef and the final balance has not been paid by the due date
- Additional guests or dishes added on or before the day of the event
- Any other service agreed with the chef but not yet paid for (e.g. extended hours, extra courses, additional shopping)
What is the process?
- For the remaining balance of your booking: If you book your event more than 30 days before the event date, you’ll typically pay a deposit at checkout to secure your chef. If the remaining balance has not been paid in full by then, your payment method on file will be automatically charged 30 days before your event date. We’ll send you a reminder email in advance in case you need to update your payment method, or contact us with any questions.
- If you book your event less than 30 days before the event date, full payment is required at checkout to confirm your booking and secure your chef.
- For additional charges (extra guests, dishes, or services agreed with your chef): Your chef will send you a payment link via the yhangry messaging platform for any additional charges agreed between you. We encourage you to settle these before the event. If an agreed additional charge remains unpaid after the event, we may charge your payment method on file for the outstanding amount.
What if I don’t agree with a charge?
If you believe there has been a mistake, please email us at [email protected] and we will review the issue. You also have the right to dispute a charge with your card issuer, though we encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve it quickly.
Your authorisation
By making a booking with yhangry, you authorise us (and our payment processor, Stripe) to charge your payment method on file for the amounts described above, in accordance with our Booking Terms. This authorisation remains in effect until your booking is completed or cancelled.
