Born in the warmth of Provence in the south of France, Romain learned his skills from a very young age. Both his grandmothers were excellent cooks but in many different ways. From making jams with the ripest of fruits to cooking river fish we had just caught, the menu was always a discovery of amazing taste and new flavours. Romain is a qualified chef from the culinary school of Marseille with a degree in Culinary Arts. After working in France in many Chateaux and hotels, he moves to Oxford in the late nineties to establish himself as a private chef using local artisan farmers produce and takes the standard of catering food in the region to higher grounds. Many collaborations followed with Slow Food and the Oxford Food Group and in 2006, Romain was sent to represent culinary excellence during Terra Madre in Turin. Romain's food is simple, pure and full of robust Mediteranean flavours with the use of spices, fresh herbs and edible flowers using the best organic and free range meats. The fish is ordered from the Cornish and is always extra fresh.
