Growing up in Northern Italy in a city called Mantua, food is part of life and has been with me since childhood. My true love affair with food comes from my “Nonna”, who is central in the family and can always be found in the kitchen, with something cooking. Coming home from school i would sit in the kitchen helping, watching and tasting the local ingredients. My professional path started after I completed culinary school in Italy; travelling around Italy learning local specialties and expanding my knowledge of food in these kitchens. As with all great chefs the best way to learn and enrich knowledge is to start from basic and progress upwards. In 2004, London was calling, so i left home and headed to a restaurant in the city, where gaining experience of the different style of service and cuisine. This set me on my journey to work in a 5 star hotel in Mayfair. This truly opened my eyes, to modern british cuisine. My next step was the iconic Fortnum & Mason on Piccadilly. Working with outstanding local fresh produce, events with celebrity chefs in quintessential British surroundings but food with a flair with modern twist. After such an impact on my knowledge i moved to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the city, as a Senior Chef, enjoying and having knowledge of all parts of the kitchen is essential and my passion from a canape to dessert, and all in between, makes me an accomplished chef with many cuisines.
