For over a decade, he served as a military chef, preparing meals in environments few kitchens could match. From catering for 2,500 troops to hosting formal dinners for senior officers and even King Charles, his career was built on adaptability, discipline, and technical precision.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>It wasn\u2019t just about scale. The military trained him in every type of cooking\u2014Caribbean, Italian, Pan-Asian, British classics\u2014and under every kind of constraint. He worked with limited equipment in field kitchens, learned how to improvise with makeshift ovens, and regularly switched between bulk catering and fine-dining formats. <em>\u201cWe had to be able to cook anything, anywhere.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-private-dining-felt-like-the-right-move\"><strong>Why Private Dining Felt Like the Right Move<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>Even while serving, George imagined having more creative control over what he cooked and how he delivered it. The idea of private dining became real when a fellow ex-military chef introduced him to the concept\u2014and to Yhangry. He saw the potential to take everything he&#8217;d learned and apply it on his own terms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>After leaving the Army in late 2023, he took the leap. <em>\u201cWe did private dinners in the Army too, cooking for generals and VVIPs in their homes,\u201d<\/em> he says. <em>\u201cSo stepping into clients\u2019 kitchens felt natural.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-early-yhangry-gigs-real-lessons\"><strong>Early Yhangry Gigs, Real Lessons<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>George\u2019s first <a href=\"https:\/\/yhangry.com\/s\/private-chef-jobs\/uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">job through Yhangry<\/a> was a last-minute booking\u2014tight timeline, long-distance travel, and a kitchen barely fit for service. In the rush, he forgot flour for a dessert component. He adapted, completed the meal, and offered an immediate refund for the oversight. The experience was formative.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p><em>\u201cThat job shaped how I now approach every booking,\u201d<\/em> he reflects. From then on, he began asking detailed questions about kitchens, equipment, and expectations. Preparation became as important as execution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-new-rhythm-with-better-rewards\"><strong>A New Rhythm with Better Rewards<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>With just five <a href=\"https:\/\/yhangry.com\/booking\/chef-register\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">private dining gigs<\/a> per month\u2014serving roughly ten guests per event\u2014George can match what he earned in the Army. But the difference is in the lifestyle. There are no deployments, no night shifts, no unpredictable rosters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>Most weeks now bring two or three bookings. Some are slower, but he\u2019s building momentum. <em>\u201cEven five bookings can match my military income\u2014with far less stress,\u201d<\/em> he says. <em>\u201cAnd I\u2019ve got time\u2014time to plan, to rest, and to improve.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-food-that-reflects-his-range-and-passion\"><strong>Food That Reflects His Range and Passion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>Private clients bring diverse tastes, ideas, and social settings. Beyond bookings, the platform has taught him how to price, market, and position himself in a competitive field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s opened me up to how big this market really is,\u201d<\/em> he says. <em>\u201cYou start thinking differently\u2014about branding, about customer experience, about managing yourself like a business.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-block -paragraph\">\n<p>He values the support, the transparency, and the sense of momentum. With each new client, he expands his reach.
